Welcome!

Welcome to this blogging-ministry that originated with the Christian Education and Formation Committee at  St. Thomas’ Parish. We wanted to have a place to show friends – new and longstanding — but newcomers in particular, to begin introducing you to who we are and what we believe makes this parish distinctive.  Our work has taken on a more focused purpose as we have discerned as a parish that God is calling us to build a new center for Episcopal life and worship on the site of the previous neo-Gothic church that stood at Church and 18th Streets NW until destroyed by arson in 1970.

We are, however, more than a building — old or new. Located just off Dupont Circle in Washington, DC, we are a progressive congregation welcoming all who want to explore their spiritual journey in community with others.  Most of all, we want to be a place to find, and be found by, God.

We hope www.Blogging-Thomas.org helps you learn about our parish – our beliefs, our life together, and the ways we try to live out the best of the Episcopal/Anglican tradition. When you come to St. Thomas’ Parish, all of you is welcome — who you are, the questions you have, the gifts you bring from everyday life.

Our wish is that our worship and life together will provide you a pathway towards a deeper understanding of the risen and transforming Christ. Through joyful singing, engaging preaching, prayer and silence, exploration and conversation, we come together to share in one bread, one body.

Wherever you may be on your faith journey, there is room at the table for you.

Welcome to Blogging-Thomas!  Welcome to St. Thomas’ Parish!
